mashmash42

Hi there, not sure where to post this, if there's an introductions thread somewhere I'm having trouble finding it apparently.

I'm known as mash in most places on the internet that I go to, though in STO my username is Kouga-hane (a relic of older days that I am unable to change) but please call me mash. I used to RP in STO when the RP scene was much more active, then took a long break from the game after the fleet I was RPing in (Task Force Tempest, if anyone knows them, maybe 6-7 years ago at this point.).

Anyway, I'm coming back to the game because I had a character idea and STO was the only place where I could fit this character into.
I don't mean that in any sort of negative way, STO is the best medium for it.

So a bit about my current character (Though I would love to use my older main, who's much more developed, as well)

It's a work in progress like all my characters eternally are, but his name is Mashkhamun (Yes, it is tangentally related to my username, but name only.) and he comes from a peculiar race of subterranean cave people on a remote planet with a small population recently admitted into the Federation after the other, more dominant species on the planet developed warp travel (with cooperation from the cave dwellers).
A bit shy and socially aloof, but curious about the greater universe, Mashkhamun is one of the first of only a handful of his kind to join Starfleet. Most of his species are very cautious and jumpy and he is no exception. In appearance, they're known for being very short and thin, with very pale skin and poor eyesight, these all being traits of any species which spends much of their lives underground. However, what they lack in size and strength they make up for in ingenuity, guile, and intelligence.
Mashkhamun came from a "pod" (his species doesn't make use of traditional family units) of 40, and he eventually chose to leave the cave city and venture out into the city of the Land dwellers. A Starfleet banner and a shuttle with a couple of Vulcan officers caught his eye and he timidly approached, asking many questions and when he became old enough, he booked passage to Earth himself, dead set on seeing the stars himself.

About me, I live in GMT +9 and am most active on weeknights at present, so unless you're a night owl or in Asia/Pacific we may not get to meet too much unfortunately but I would be willing to try. I'm most interested in joining a small group but I'll take whatever I can get.
Cheers.

Hello!  Nice to hear from a new member.  Sorry I didn't answer sooner.
Good character story.
This site isn't a fleet as such but a would-be meeting-place for RPers from all fleets.  You might find someone on here who has a fleet for you - have you tried contacting any of the fleets from the Fleet Recruitment section?
I'm in GMT so we probably won't meet in real time but I'll add you to my friends list anyway!
